IBM today announced a new IBM Cloud Computing Center in Winterthur, Switzerland, ready in early Q3 2013. The center will provide a broad spectrum of applications and infrastructure services. It will also enable local data storage in Switzerland. Together with IBM, Netcetera launched the Swiss Government Cloud for Public Services in April 2012.

The app is easy to use and provides true added value for passengers. As of Monday, 13 August 2012, iPhone and Android smartphone users can download Wemlin for free. The application displays upcoming departure times for each bus stop on the "Verkehrsbetriebe St. Gallen" (VBSG) and Regiobus networks in real time. The intention is to extend this real-time information to all public transport networks in the Ostwind fare zone. Wemlin was developed by the Swiss software company Netcetera.

Netcetera’s iOS chief architect Ognen Ivanovski was one of 20 scientists and developers chosen to participate in ESA's App Camp challenge. The challenge involved producing an iOS applications to make ESA's earth observation data more accessible to the general public. The 20 finalists were invited to ESA's ESRIN facility near Rome, Italy, in June. In teams, they brainstormed and created prototypes for a week. ESA awarded the winning concept by Ognen Ivanovski’s team and presented them with an iPad3 each.
