Demands on doctors and care staff are rising constantly, in part due to increasing cost pressure. Patient files need to be constantly updated for the treating parties and for health and accident insurance, and it should be possible to manage them online 24/7. To meet this challenge to IT systems, Swiss software developers Netcetera and the i-engineers have forged a forward-looking alliance for electronic health care (E-Health). Their aim is to use the latest technological aids, such as tablet computers, enabling treating physicians and care staff to e.g. update and manage patient files mobile and in accordance with stringent authorization criteria. This sort of digital patient support ensures fast, efficient information exchange among treating parties, which ultimately benefits the patients.
the i-engineers specializes in document management. Their “Health Engine” file system is currently used in a wide variety of care facilities and hospitals. Netcetera contributes its proven expertise in cross-platform software development and integration to the partnership. The result are solutions based on the product line of the i-engineers and that are being integrated in the system environments of customers.
“Our partnership with the i-engineers combines the strengths of two companies that are leaders in their fields,” comments Andrej Vckovski, CEO of the Netcetera Group. Peter Summermatter, CEO of the i-engineers, is also very positive about the potential of the alliance: “Our goal is to extend our products for hospitals and care facilities to include mobile solutions that operate seamlessly with other systems – an important factor for increasing the quality of support despite high cost pressure. We aim to fashion an ideal combination of Netcetera’s capabilities with those of the i-engineers for the benefit of customers, and ultimately for the benefit of patients.”
Netcetera and the i-engineers will unveil their joint solutions on 21 to 22 September 2011 at the eHealthCare convention in Nottwil, the largest interdisciplinary trade show in the Swiss health care industry.
