Stepping into my new CEO role at Netcetera in 2023 was one of my personal highlights – and it was followed by many more, in discovering:

Being part of something that is so much bigger than myself, is what motivates my daily life, in shaping the future with our talents, clients, and partners – and we will continue to do so in 2024!

2023 has been characterized by forward-thinking, ample creativity, continuous advancement, and significant commitment. The marketing team crafted a fantastic campaign with videos, podcasts, and other artefacts to showcase the collective expertise and passion of our Netcetera experts, all dedicated to empowering our customers to shine.

Looking towards 2024, the trust vested in us by our customers remains our guiding force as we strive to turn software into value. We’re dedicated to deepening our client relations, embracing new trends and technologies, fostering personalized experiences, and embedding sustainability into our DNA.

Excitement drives us to continue creating opportunities together, pushing the boundaries of what’s achievable in the digital landscape.

My stand-out moment would be signing Fiserv as our new client in 2023. I am so thankful to everyone involved; it came at the most unexpected moment and was the best surprise of the year.

For next year, I am excited to expand the payment cards product portfolio with independent modules, opening us up to a more extensive client base, the first of which App Takeover Prevention will launch early next year.

During 2023, we have seen AI chatbots grow in popularity mainly because they are much more accessible. I was blown away by our Sparks Ai Chatbot Proof of concept, and I look forward to working with our clients to bring many great ideas as this one to life.

Closing out a year marked by operational excellence on our Payment Platform. Amidst myriad challenges, we’ve consistently delivered top-tier payment services, exceeding client expectations. Reflecting on recent weeks, our flawless execution resulted in our most successful Black Friday, ensuring uninterrupted service delivery under the highest load so far.

Our focus intensifies as we prepare for an ambitious and even more dynamic 2024 year ahead, orchestrating the migration of our payment services to the cloud.

I’m excited to work alongside a highly motivated team committed to delivering exceptional client value.

Amidst challenges, 2023 emerged as a remarkable year, marked by achievements and strengthened relationships with our valued customers. We extended our presence into previously untapped geographies by launching the Netcetera 3DS Server in India. We diversified our suite of acquiring services, including new products based on SRC and network tokenization technologies, affirming our standing as the preferred choice for secure and seamless payment solutions for many new customers.

The aspiration for 2024 is to deliver enhanced value by offering a comprehensive suite of acquiring products to meet their needs for integrated, secure digital payments and one-click checkout solutions.

In APAC, we have seen many changes this year. While the e-commerce industry has seen huge hype as consumers increasingly order from home and favour contactless cashless payments, businesses have faced the challenge of attracting new customers and gaining their trust without meeting them in person. This has been made more difficult by a wave of layoffs in the technology sector, as well as high inflation and a decline in investment due to uncertainty.

In APAC, we see financial inclusion as a key concern. New wallet technologies and real-time cross-border payments are on the rise. This growth is accompanied by a dramatic increase in fraud. This is where Netcetera can help combat fraud with its secure digital payments portfolio and AI capabilities.

The standout moment of the year was supporting Bancontact´s 3 D-secure 2.x going live based on our payment network suite, including Directory Server and End-to-End quality assurance platform to enable their network partners. We demonstrated our outstanding expertise in the 3-D Secure issuing, acquiring and payment network domain and enjoy collaborating with a fantastic team of experts on the client side.     

2024 will be a landmark in enhancing and further developing our Netcetera Identity proposition in terms of management of identities as a service and supporting the full spectrum of CIAM use cases for financial services and enterprise domains. Looking ahead, we become a leading service provider to enable our clients to benefit from the support of decentralized identities and related EIDAS services.

Reaching more than 1 million PostFinance unique users logged in to our app monthly in March 2023 is a milestone worth sharing. This made us especially proud since it means delivering value to our client PostFinance and millions of customers with an innovative and secure Digital Banking experience. The roadmap includes many new features and ongoing improvements to make the mobile banking experience easier and more intuitive for our users.

In that regard, I’d like to highlight our increased share in Braingroup, the market leader for modern hybrid financial advisory software in the Swiss banking and insurance environment.

In 2024, We will jointly focus on revolutionizing banking by combining Mobile Banking, AI Chatbots, and Financial Advisory services. My wishes are towards the integration of AI into web/mobile banking and enriching conversational banking with advanced financial advisory features for an elevated client experience.

Having joined Netcetera at such a pivotal time in the beginning of 2023, it was a great experience being part of the process of strengthening the relationship with G+D and becoming a part of our newly founded Digital Banking Division.

After a year of talking about Generative AI, I am looking forward to seeing more actual use cases being realized and us, as Netcetera, playing a part in this. It will be interesting to see how this will shape our industry in the coming year. And with topics such as Digital Euro and PSD3 on the agenda, things will not get boring over the years ahead.

2023 was filled with numerous highlights, especially since I communicate with our clients daily. So, for me, every positively solved client request is a highlight. Having satisfied customers at the end of the day is the most rewarding part of being a Customer Success executive. It’s an intensive, on times demanding and delicate job, but with a team of experts behind me that supports and is focused on finding the best solution for the client, it is the perfect recipe for success.

My wish for 2024 is to continue creating success stories and, together with my colleagues and clients, to materialize our cloud strategy.
