Integrating the digital euro: Why a platform approach wins over building in-house
The digital euro has moved from concept to calendar. In June 2026, the ECB selected 36 payment service providers to take part in its pilot programme. The pilot development phase is already underway and live payments are planned for the second half of 2027. If the digital euro regulation is adopted as expected, the ECB aims to be ready to issue the first digital euro in 2029.
For banks and payment service providers, that timeline has become an integration deadline. Sooner or later, every PSP will need to connect to the digital euro ecosystem. But should you build and maintain that integration yourself, or plug into a platform that already exists, is already proven in production and keeps up with regulatory changes for you?
In this webinar, the G+D Netcetera team shows you what that second option looks like in practice - and why, for PSPs of every shape and size (Distributing and/or Acquiring) or Aggregators, leveraging the G+D Netcetera Digital Euro Integration Platform reduces risk, comlexity and effort while accelerating speed and making sure you are compliant - always!
