Patricia Battenberg brings more than two decades of experience in European banking and payments. She joins from Worldline, where she most recently served as Global Head of Strategic Relationships Financial Services, leading relationships with Europe's largest banking clients. Earlier roles include senior positions at Creditreform, U.S. Bancorp/Elavon and PAYBACK. At G+D Netcetera, Battenberg will lead the next phase of growth for the Payment Enablement business in Cologne, with a focus on modernizing the IT platform, deepening existing client relationships and connecting the unit more closely with the wider G+D Netcetera portfolio.
"Patricia knows the European banking and payments market from every angle: as a negotiator at C-level, as a team leader and as a strategist," says Carsten Wengel, CEO of G+D Netcetera. "That is exactly what we need now. We have set out to become the end-to-end partner for the German financial industry. Patricia brings the network, the experience and the drive to deliver on that ambition."
The new business unit employs around 280 people in Cologne and serves more than 200 banking clients across Germany. Sascha Kraatz continues as Co-Managing Director and, together with Battenberg, ensures continuity for clients and partners.
"What the German banking market has built over the past decades sits at the core of the country's payment infrastructure," says Patricia Battenberg. "Combining that with the innovation and European reach of G+D Netcetera is a rare opportunity. I look forward to working with Sascha Kraatz, the team in Cologne and our clients to shape the next phase of growth, in a market that is changing fundamentally."
