As a Legal Counsel, reporting to a Senior Legal Counsel Manager, you will be part of our international legal team that plays a crucial role in providing legal advice and support in contract negotiations with customers and/or internal stakeholders.

Your tasks

  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents (e.g. various contracts and agreements, especially SaaS agreements incl. SLAs and license agreements, NDAs etc.) with focus on German and international contract law and IT/IP law
  • Support with negotiating agreements or clarification of legal matters with stakeholders (internally) and/or customers (externally)
  • Advising on legal issues of different areas, including but not limited to corporate, procurement, intellectual property, IT, and employment matters
  • Advise the respective internal stakeholders of the contractual rights and obligations as they pertain to their specific agreements
  • Create and maintain awareness for relevant laws and regulations, especially for German law, and in close cooperation with the Compliance Department

Your profile

  • A German degree in law and “Volljurist (2. jur. Staatsexamen)” as a minimum
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant practical experience in a legal capacity, preferably in an international software or FinTech company, or in a bank or other financial institution
  • Skilled in legal drafting and handling matters in an international legal environment (with emphasis on German, EU, and UK law)
  • German and English as fluent working languages (speaking, negotiating and legal drafting); other languages are a plus
  • Knowledge in IT-outsourcing for banks and financial institutions is a plus (e.g. EBA-Guidelines).
  • Ability to work efficiently with and within various teams/stakeholders and give advice on a broad range of legal topics
  • Proactive, self-driven, pragmatic, and hands-on attitude with the ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
  • High standard of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability as well as strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills

Place of work for this role is Berlin or Munich, at least partial remote work possible.
