Strong together

Netcetera and the Austrian Red Cross Further Develop the MeinBlut App

Netcetera and the Austrian Red Cross (ÖRK) work together to make blood donation in Austria even easier. After the joint release of the MeinBlut app last year, Netcetera and the Austrian Red Cross (ÖRK) have developed more features for the app. In this way, they want to motivate even more users to donate blood and thus guarantee constant blood donations in Austria. The latest version of the app will be available by the end of September 2022.

Blood donors can register in the app, search for a suitable donation appointment and fill in their medical data. In the latest version, they can also view the history of their test results and collect badges. This means that users can collect virtual badges through blood donations and other actions such as meeting blood friends. Particularly frequent blood donors can advance to higher levels.

This gamification function offers an additional incentive to donate blood regularly or to use the app between blood donations. The app includes important features such as allowing users to filling out the donation questionnaire online, and have an overview of donation dates and blood results.  "In cooperation with Netcetera, our blood donation app was able to be implemented quickly. This is making blood donation more modern, safer and even more convenient for the donor," said Werner Watzinger, Commercial Director of the Blood Centre Linz.

Sascha Michaelowa, Product Owner and Requirements Engineer at Netcetera, says: "We are happy to continue this great project that combines technology and health for a good cause."
